Dennis Beck, MD, FACEP
President and CEO

Dr. Beck has been Beacon’s President and CEO for over 20 years. He has extensive clinical and administrative experience having served as an ED Medical Director for several busy emergency departments as well as Medical Director for a large multi-site emergency physician group. Dr. Beck is a nationally recognized leader in emergency medicine coding and reimbursement. He is past Chair of the ACEP Reimbursement Committee from 2000 to 2003, past President of Colorado ACEP and has lectured extensively for ACEP on various reimbursement topics. Dr. Beck currently serves as an ACEP representative to the AMA Relative Value Update Committee (RUC) and is Chairman of the ACEP Quality and Performance Committee. He is also a member of ACEP’s Coding and Nomenclature and Reimbursement Committees and serves as Colorado ACEP’s representative to the TrailBlazer Carrier Advisory Committee. Dr. Beck is responsible for the overall performance, quality and compliance of all functions provided by Beacon Medical Services.

Bob Reece
Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Reece has over 20 years of experience with software, transaction processing and electronic payments businesses and extensive knowledge of the health care, retail and banking industries.   Bob recently worked at ProCard, Inc., a leading provider of web-based commercial credit card management solutions for major banks and their corporate clients, where he established the sales strategy, product positioning and marketing program for a new suite of products and services. While there, he led efforts to establish a joint venture with a major health insurance company to facilitate point-of-service payment for patient services by accessing real-time insurance plan and fee schedule information.  While working for Bank One Corporation (now JPMorgan Chase) in the mid-1990’s,  Bob led an initiative to build one of the first electronic health care claims and payments EDI networks; the success of this initiative resulted in the creation of a Bank One subsidiary, System One.  

Bob has an MBA from the University of Michigan, with emphases in marketing and finance, and a BA in Computer Science from Furman University.

Kathy Hubchik
Director of Coding

Ms. Hubchik has been with Beacon for over 7years, working first in compliance and coding and most recently as the Director of Operations.  She brings 20 years of healthcare experience to Beacon.  Prior to joining Beacon, she worked in a large Denver hospital as Director of Health Information Management where she participated in quality improvement programs, performed contract work for both government and private sector projects and provided facility based coding.  She is a credentialed healthcare professional through the American Health Information Management Association. Ms. Hubchik is responsible for all aspects of business operations and business improvements at Beacon.

M. Peter Pacek
Director of Patient Financial Services

Mr. Pacek has over twenty-four years of revenue cycle management and financial experience with both small/specialty hospitals and large healthcare systems. Prior to joining Beacon, Peter worked in the lead finance role for a national hospital chain, where he led the selection, set-up and implementation of a fully integrated computer system and was instrumental in the financial/statistical turn-around of a hospital in Northern California. Peter worked previously for Centura Health as Director of Finance for the Revenue Cycle Division. While there, he helped to significantly reduce AR by employing innovative reporting tools that identified better collection techniques and optimized resources. Peter is responsible for all aspects of Patient Financial Services operations at Beacon Medical Services. Peter has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Eastern Michigan University.

Tina Cullom
Director of IT

Ms. Cullom has over 20 years of experience in IT planning and management. She was a Director of IT for Exempla Healthcare in Denver.  She spent several years as a management consultant with Deloitte Consulting, working with many payor and provider organizations on IT and process improvement projects.  She also served as the Manager of Network Applications and the Manager of Sales Applications for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts.  Ms. Cullom is responsible for all aspects of IT services at Beacon Medical Services.

Tina has an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BS in Management from SUNY at Buffalo.

Cynthia Finé
Director of Strategic Services and Compliance Officer

With over 20 years of experience in the health care industry, Cynthia Finé currently serves as Beacon’s Director of Strategic Services and as our Ethics and Compliance Officer with responsibility for oversight of contracting and credentialing services as well as corporate and HIPAA compliance.

Immediately prior to joining Beacon, Ms. Finé was the Director of Managed Care for HealthONE Clinic Services, providing management services to several physician organizations.  Her responsibilities included messenger model contract negotiations, implementation and administration of contracts for primary care, occupational medicine and outpatient rehabilitation as well as oversight of the managed care department’s case management and credentialing functions. Previously Ms. Finé was the manager of Provider Contracting for PacifiCare, a health maintenance organization.  Her responsibilities included negotiation and renewal of facility and ancillary agreements for all PacifiCare product lines in the Denver metropolitan area.

Ms. Finé has a Masters degree in business and management and is a member of the Colorado Managed Care Contractors as well as the Health Care Compliance Association.

Dan Onder
Controller

Dan Onder has over ten years of accounting and finance experience.  He serves as Beacon’s Controller and manages all of the accounting activities of the company. In addition, he manages the client payment/refund processing function.  Prior to joining Beacon, Dan worked for the consulting division of a national medical billing firm.  While there, he managed the day to day accounting functions of seven physician medical groups and 3 partnerships serving over 70 doctors.

Dan has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Regis University.
