The Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) encourage third party billing companies, physician practices and hospitals to voluntarily develop and implement compliance programs. 

The Board and Senior Management of Beacon Medical Services provide ethical leadership to the organization and assure that adequate systems are in place to facilitate ethical and legal conduct.  Beacon Medical Services’ Compliance Program

• assists in the creation of a corporate culture that expects accountability from all employees,

• provides a central coordinating mechanism for furnishing and disseminating information, and

• provides the tools for ongoing monitoring of the Compliance Program to assure that we adhere to all applicable federal and state statutes, regulations and other payor requirements.

Beacon Medical Services has designated a full-time Compliance Officer and corporate Compliance Committee, with substantial control and policy-making roles, to have oversight responsibility for the design, implementation and ongoing monitoring of the Compliance Program. 

Beacon Medical Services’ Compliance Program provides education and monitoring of patient documentation and coding.  Through ongoing audits and dialogue with our clients, we strive to minimize the risk of fraudulent billing and optimize the quality of documentation, resulting in appropriate reimbursement.

As part of the hiring process, Beacon Medical Services assesses potential employees for past sanctions or prohibitions which would inhibit their ability to comply with Beacon Medical Services policies and procedures.
